What can we expect from the coming Despicable Me 3 Movie

COMEDY

If the first two Despicable Me movies are of any indication, then we all know we are sure to get plenty of good comedy. Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig are once again leading in this third installment in the trilogy. One thing I researched is that Steve Carell will be playing dual roles. In this third movie, Carell’s character (Gru) has a long lost identical twin (Dru) and there will be some type of sibling rivalry. A double dose of Steve Carell generally means a double dose of comedy. The Despicable Me franchise is known for adding A-list actor(s) and actress(s) in each of its new movies to give each one a different spark. This time around they have added South Park creator Trey Parker (Balthazar Bratt) into the mix who I believe will be the villain. I am truly excited they brought Trey Parker in on this movie. I expect there to possibly be even more adult comedy in this third film than any of the first two movies. One things is for sure, when you hear the names Trey Parker, Despicable Me 3 and Steve Carell you think comedy.

FAMILY

I feel the Despicable Me movies have always been a family oriented franchise. Children and adults of all ages can come and enjoy these movies. Having a South Park creator come aboard this third installment, you can guarantee there will be more humor geared towards adults. Although this movie is rated PG, I am sure that there will not be a lack of adult humor that parents can enjoy. For some, the addition of Trey Parker may be nervous to let their children see this third installment. However, with the rating of PG, I feel very strongly that this will once again be a movie for all ages. You can read more on: Despicable Me 2017.

LIFE LESSON

I expect to come out of this movie having learned something. In the previous two movies, there was a moral lesson that was taught throughout the film and I am sure this movie won’t disappoint in that area. In the first movie, we learned that Gru needed to be happy with himself. Constantly trying to gain his mother’s approval was what kept getting him into trouble. The girls came along and taught him to be happy with himself and to love others. The second movie continued the theme about loving others as well as adding the theme of protecting your family. For this third movie and the introduction of Dru, I can expect to come away with a family-oriented lesson as well.

THE END?

Will this be the third and final film in the Despicable Me movie franchise? In my opinion no. Why you may ask? The first Despicable Me spin-off movie, Minions, surpassed both Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 combined, making over $1 billion dollars. As long as this movie does well at the box office like their spin-off movies, I can almost guarantee this will not be the last Despicable Me movie. Speaking for myself, I can only hope not, but once again I could be very, very wrong.
